Un maestru a plecat cu ucenicul său în junglă. Chiar dacă era în vârstă, își făcea drum cu agilitate, în timp ce discipolul tot aluneca și cădea de multe ori. Tânărul se ridica și mormăia mânios de fiecare dată, dar continua să-și urmeze maestrul. După o bună bucată de drum, au ajuns într-un loc sacru. Fără să se oprească o clipă, maestrul s-a întors pe drumul pe care veniseră.
„Nu m-ai învățat nimic astăzi„, spuse novicele, după ce căzuse a mia oară.
„Te-am învățat un lucru, dar nu ai reușit să-l înțelegi„, spuse vraciul. „Încerc să te învăț cum să înfrunți greșelile în viață.„
