După cât se poate bănui, Nastratin Hogea a dat o grămadă de lecţii (deşi nu se ştie de la cine le-a luat). Un negustor a venit într-o zi la el şi i-a spus: – Îţi propun un târg pe cinste. Împrumută-mă 50 de dinari, din care eu am să fac 70. Câştig curat: 20 de dinari. Zece pentru tine, zece pentru mine. Ce zici? – Într-adevăr, n-ar fi de lepădat, a spus Nastratin, după ce s-a gândit câteva clipe. Eu însă îţi propun un alt târg, mai bun pentru amândoi. – Cum aşa? – Ei bine, iată: îţi dau cei zece dinari. Ţine. Câştigul îl dobândeşti pe loc, fără să fi scos nimic din buzunar.
